Lane Restriction Starts Tonight on EB Route 30 in York County

Ramp/acceleration lane from Route 74 to EB Route 30 to be closed for pavement patching; Right lane restriction on EB Route 30 approach to Route 74

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that long-term lane restrictions are schedule to begin tonight on eastbound Route 30 at the pavement patching project in Manchester and West Manchester townships, York County.

Weather permitting, at approximately 8:00 PM tonight (Monday, May 5) the on-ramp/acceleration lane from Route 74 to eastbound Route 30 will be closed from the on-ramp to Kenneth Road. The ramp/acceleration lane will be shifted to the right (travel) lane of eastbound Route 30 and will remain in this configuration to Kenneth Road.

To allow Route 74 ramp traffic to safely enter the eastbound Route 30 mainline, a right (travel) lane restriction will be in place on eastbound Route 30 approaching Route 74. Eastbound Route 30 will reopen to two travel lanes at Kenneth Road.

These restrictions are expected to be in place for about a month to allow pavement patching in the acceleration lane.

This work is part of a project that includes concrete patching, concrete paving, diamond grinding, asphalt milling, base repair, asphalt overlay, guiderail updates, ADA ramps, signs, pavement markings, and other miscellaneous construction on Route 30 from Route 74 in West Manchester Township to Interstate 83 in Manchester Township.

The project also includes base repairs, milling and overlay on Roosevelt Avenue (Route 4001) from Marbrook Lane in the City of York and Manchester Township to just north of Greenbriar Road (Route 4011) in West Manchester Township.

Work will be performed nightly from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM with single lane closures. Flagging will be performed as needed at intersections within the project limits.

Travelers should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs is the contractor on this $ 8,739,391 project. All work is expected to be completed by November 7, 2025.
