Repairs Begin Tomorrow on Strickler Road Bridge Spanning Route 283 in Lancaster County

Bridge was closed last year after being damaged by vehicle strike; shoulder restrictions will be in place on westbound Route 283

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that repairs are scheduled to begin tomorrow, Thursday, July 11, on the Strickler Road (Route 4045) bridge spanning Route 283 in Rapho Township, Lancaster County. The bridge was closed to traffic last October due to a vehicle strike.

Work includes replacing the bridge span over westbound Route 283.

There will be shoulder restrictions on westbound Route 283 at the bridge beginning tomorrow.

Beams will be set in the coming weeks, which will require a closure of westbound Route 283. A press release will be issued prior to the closure.

A detour currently is in place for Strickler Road using Route 772 (Mount Joy Road), Breneman Road and Zink Road.

Ryland Construction Company, Inc., of Mount Wolf, is the contractor on this $652,696 project.

All work is expected to be completed by October 11, 2024.

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
