King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that West Whiteland Township will be performing roadway improvements on Ship Road in West Whiteland Township, Chester County, beginning Monday, September 25.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, September 25, through Monday, October 9, southbound N. Ship Road will be closed and detoured 24/7 between Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) and Swedesford Road. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Swedesford Road, Route 100 (Pottstown Pike), and Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway).
Local access will be maintained up to the work zone for southbound N. Ship Road motorists. Northbound N. Ship Road will remain open to traffic between Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) and Swedesford Road.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent.
Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
