King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that stormwater replacement is planned on Kaolin Road and Ellis Woods Road in Kennett, New Garden, East Vincent and East Coventry townships, Chester County, under a $14.9 million project to upgrade stormwater management facilities on more than 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following lane restrictions:
- Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 26, Kaolin Road will be closed 24/7 between Chandler Mill Road and Ewart Road in Kennett and New Garden townships. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Ewart Road and Chandler Mill Road.
- Monday, July 15, through Thursday, July 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Ellis Woods Road will be closed weekdays between Bethel Church Road and Route 23 (Ridge Road) in East Vincent and East Coventry townships. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Bethel Church Road and Route 23 (Ridge Road).
Local Access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.
Highway Materials, Inc. of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
