King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that paving operations are planned tomorrow night on Interstate 95 through the ongoing permanent reconstruction project at the Cottman Avenue Interchange in Northeast Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Tuesday, March 26, a left lane closure will be in place beginning at 7:00 PM, followed by a double lane closure at 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning on northbound I-95 between the Betsy Ross Bridge and Academy Road interchanges for placement of the concrete deck on the inner section of the new northbound bridge.
- Tuesday, March 26, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a left lane closure is planned on southbound I-95 between the Academy Road and Betsy Ross Bridge interchanges for safe construction vehicle access to the work zone.
The outside sections of the new bridge were completed in November 2023, and traffic was shifted onto the completed outer sections while work on the center section of the bridge continues into mid-2024.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
