King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that line striping and sign installations will begin next week on several state highways in Bucks and Montgomery counties under a project to install safety enhancements to improve travel and reduce high-speed crashes across the five-county Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Bucks County
- Monday, April 3, through Monday, April 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic weekday lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) between Mill Road and Levittown Parkway in Bristol and Bensalem townships;
- Monday, April 3, through Monday, April 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic weekday lane closures are scheduled on northbound U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) between Route 413 (Veterans Highway) and Levittown Parkway) in Bristol and Tullytown townships; and
- Monday, April 3, through Monday, April 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic weekday lane closures are scheduled on Newport Road between Dixon Avenue and Laings Avenue in Bristol Township.
Montgomery County
- Monday, April 3, through Monday, April 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic weekday lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Route 73 (Church Road) between Route 73 (Cottman Avenue) and Willow Grove Avenue in Cheltenham Township;
- Monday, April 3, through Monday, April 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic weekday lane closures are scheduled on Route 113 (Black Rock Road) between Dreibelbis Road and Second Avenue in Upper Providence Township;
- Monday, April 3, through Monday, April 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic weekday lane closures are scheduled on Fitzwatertown Road between Lakevue Road and Route 263 (York Road) in Upper Moreland Township;
- Monday, April 3, through Monday, April 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic weekday lane closures are scheduled on Philmont Avenue between Manor Road and Woodland Circle in Lower Moreland Township; and
- Monday, April 3, through Monday, April 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic weekday lane closures are scheduled on Greenwood Avenue at the intersection with Route 73 (Church Road) in Cheltenham Township.
Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel through the work areas because backups and slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Kuharchik Construction, Inc. of Exeter, is the general contractor on this $7.5 million project, which is financed with 100% federal funds.
