King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge inspection is scheduled on Interstate 95 Girard Point Bridge and other state highways in Philadelphia and Bucks counties.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, January 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Enterprise Avenue Interchange and just south of the Girard Point Bridge in Philadelphia;
- Tuesday, January 9, and Wednesday, January 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on the northbound deck of the Girard Point Bridge between the Enterprise Avenue and the Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia; and
- Thursday, January 11, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 (Martin Luther King Jr. Expressway) between the Morrisville and the Fairless Hills interchanges in Morrisville Borough and Falls Township, Bucks County.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
These inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
