Tree Clearing Starts Tomorrow on Blockhouse Road in Jackson Township, Lycoming County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a tree clearing project is set to begin tomorrow on Blockhouse Road (Route 1009) in Jackson Township, Lycoming County. The tree clearing is in preparation for the replacement of the structure carrying Blockhouse Road over an unnamed tributary to Blockhouse Creek, which will take place next year.

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the contractor, Robert C. Young, Inc., will begin clearing trees near the structure located between Laurel Hill Road (T-822) and Brick Church Road (Route 1010). This project is part of a $300,000 Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Department Force bridge replacement project, set to take place in 2026. Work this year includes tree removal. Work in 2026 includes the removal of the existing structure, replacement with a precast concrete box culvert, drainage upgrades, paving, line painting, and guiderail upgrades.
