Pipe Replacement Project to Begin Next Week on Shickshinny Valley Road in Briar Creek Township, Columbia County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a portion of Route 1012 (Shickshinny Valley Road) will close next week in Briar Creek Township, Columbia County, for a pipe replacement project.

Starting on Monday, June 17, 2024, Shickshinny Valley Road will be closed on either side of the Little Shickshinny Creek, while a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew replaces pipes. The Little Shickshinny Creek is located approximately 2.2 miles east of the intersection with Route 1025 (Summerhill Road) in Briar Creek Township, Columbia County and approximately 1.7 miles west of the intersection with Mountain Road in Salem Township, Luzerne County.

A detour using Route 1025 (Summerhill Road / Market Street), Route 11, and Route 4004 (Shickshinny Valley Road) will be in place for the duration of the project. The project is anticipated to be completed by Friday, July 12, 2024, weather permitting.
