Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a paving project is scheduled next week on Route 4025 (Ants Hill Road) in Madison Township, Columbia County.
On Tuesday, June 4, 2024 through Friday, June 14, 2024, Ants Hill Road will be closed daily between Route 442 and Route 44 while a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew performs a Cold in-place recycling (CIR) paving project.
A detour using Route 442, Route 254, and Route 44 will be in place while work is being performed. Work will be performed between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel and drive with caution.
CIR is a paving process that involves the processing and treatment of existing pavements without heat to produce a restored pavement layer. The process is completed in-place by a train of equipment. Instead of applying all-new Hot Mix Asphalt, the existing asphalt is removed and treated with bituminous and/or chemical additives and then used to pave the road.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect travel delays, and drive with caution.
