Kim Smith is PennDOT Employee of the Quarter

Montoursville, PA – Kim Smith is the district office Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter, 2023.

Since Kim has held the job as Safety Press Officer, she has expanded the outreach programs such as child seat checks, bicycle rodeos, CarFit, and mature and teen driving programs, through local schools, community groups, universities, and law enforcement, among other agencies.  She manages the district's Driver Safety Task Force and sits on many local committees including the Lycoming Law Enforcement Association, Safe Kids, and Healthy Tioga.

Often this position requires her to be available during emergencies and severe weather events to receive and provide important information to the public.

Kim is a team player, willing to go the extra mile to assist where she can. She is not afraid to take on extra responsibilities and help others complete their assignments when needed. The most recent example of Kim's willingness to help co-workers was when she offered to cover the reception area for clerical breaks. Her kindness towards others and helping where needed makes her a great asset to PennDOT and the District 3 team.

Kim has been with PennDOT for nine years.  She lives in Clinton Township with her husband Russ and their son Carter. In her spare time, Kim enjoys traveling, crafting, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her two dogs.

Congratulations to Kim Smith, the PennDOT District 3 Employee of the Quarter.
