CORRECTION: (Updated Township) Oversize Load to Close a Portion of Route 61 Tomorrow in Northumberland and Columbia Counties

CORRECTION: Closure will take place between East Fifth Street in Mount Carmel Borough, Northumberland County and Myers Street in Centralia, Conyngham Township, Columbia County.

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a portion of Route 61 (Mount Carmel-Centralia Road) will be closed tomorrow in Mount Carmel Borough and Mount Carmel Township, Northumberland County and ConynghamTownship, Columbia County, for an overside load.

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, Mount Carmel-Centralia Road will be closed between East Fifth Street in Mount Carmel Borough, Northumberland County and Myers Street in Centralia, Conyngham Township, Columbia County, while the contractor, Wolfe House Movers, LLC., moves a frame house. The oversize load is 75-feet long, 33-feet wide, 18-feet in height, and weighs 90,000 pounds.

The roadway is expected to be closed for approximately 15 minutes.  A detour using local roads will be in place while the roadway is closed.

Work is expected to begin at 9:00 AM, weather permitting. Motorists should be alert, slow down, and expect delays in travel.
