Bridge Preservation Project Begins on the Berwick-Nescopeck Veterans Memorial Bridge in Columbia County

 

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a bridge preservation project is set to begin next week on the Berwick-Nescopeck Veterans Memorial Bridge (Market Street / Route 93) in Berwick Borough, Columbia County. The bridge carries Market Street / Route 93 over the North Branch Susquehanna River.

On Monday, March 17, 2025, the contractor, Truesdell Corporation, will begin removing the existing lighting foundations and construct new foundations along the bridge. New light poles will be installed once the new foundations have been completed. Motorists can expect lane shifts where work is being performed. Work will be performed during daylight hours.

Truesdell Corporation is the prime contractor for this $1.1 million bridge preservation project. The project includes preservation work on two bridges, Berwick-Nescopeck Veterans Memorial Bridge (Route 93) in Berwick Borough and The Catawissa Bridge (Route 42) in Montour Township, Columbia County. Work on the project includes epoxy overlay, mill and resurface, pavement markings, and lighting upgrades. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed by June 2025, weather pending.
