Montoursville, PA – Motorists who travel Route 220 in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, are advised that the bridge replacement and rehabilitation project continues next week. Work on the project this year includes milling and final paving, as well as placing raised pavement markings, rumble strips, and final line painting.
Between Monday, May 5, 2025 and Friday, May 16, 2025, the contractor will be placing raised pavement markers, rumble strips, and applying final line painting on Route 220 in both directions between the Woodward Township Firehall and approximately 1 miles south of the Reach Road interchange. Motorists can expect alternating lane restrictions where work is being performed. Work will be performed during daylight hours, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays, watch for changing traffic patterns, and drive with caution in the area.
Susquehanna Valley Construction Corporation is the prime contractor on this $18 million, multi-year bridge improvement project. In 2023, work included the replacement of the northbound structure carrying Route 220 over the Fourth Street exit ramp and rehabilitation of the northbound structures over Antlers Lane and the Lycoming Valley Railroad. In 2024, work included the replacement of the southbound structure carrying Route 220 over the Fourth Street exit ramp and rehabilitation of the southbound structures over Antlers Lane and the Lycoming Valley Railroad. Work on this project is anticipated to be complete in the spring 2025, weather permitting.
