Lane Restrictions Today on Route 42 in Hemlock Township, Columbia County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised of lane restrictions today on Route 42 (Mall Boulevard) in Hemlock Township, Columbia County, for bridge sounding. Work on this project is part of the multi-year reconstruction and resurfacing project on Interstate 80 in Columbia County, near the Buckhorn interchange.

On Monday April 7, 2025, the contractor will begin repairs to bridges carrying Route 42 over Interstate 80 at the Route 42 interchange (Exit 232 / Buckhorn). Motorists can expect alternating lane restrictions in both directions on Route 42 where work is being performed. Work will be performed between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 AM, weather permitting.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, watch for stopped or slow-moving vehicle, watch for lane changes, and drive with caution through the work zone.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc. is the prime contractor for this $11.1 million reconstruction and resurfacing project. Work includes shoulder reconstruction, roadway resurfacing, structure preservation, signing, and other miscellaneous work. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed in June of 2025.
