The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a start date of Monday, February 20, for work on the Mifflin County Veterans Memorial Bridge. This bridge is located along Route 103 in Granville Township, spanning the Juniata River. Crews will be working through the end of February to replace the seals in the expansion dams of the bridge.
Traffic will be restricted to a single lane during daylight hours while this work takes place. PennDOT advises drivers traveling the area to build extra time into their travel schedules as it expects delays. It expects the work to be complete by the end of the week. All work is weather and schedule dependent.
The bridge, which opened in 1989, is 762 feet long and carries an average of almost 4,700 vehicles daily. Rylind Construction Company, Inc. of Muncy, PA is the contractor on this project.
