PennDOT plans bridge replacement on Looker Mt. Trail in Otto Township, McKean County

Clearfield, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced plans to begin a bridge replacement project on April 1, 2024, on Route 246 (Looker Mountain Trail) in Otto Township, McKean County. This will improve safety and ride quality for motorists by replacing the bridge spanning Baker Run, improving the overall condition rating from poor to good.

The bridge will be reduced to one lane during daylight hours beginning April 1. Flaggers will provide traffic control until April 16, when temporary traffic signals will become active and provide traffic control for the duration of the project. Work is estimated to be completed in November. All work and scheduling is weather dependent.

Additional work to the bridge deck and the approach will include paving, guiderail installation, application of pavement markings, and miscellaneous construction.

Francis J. Palo Inc. of Clarion, PA is the contractor on this $1.9 million project.

Motorists are advised to be alert for sudden stops and traffic delays, and asked to use caution in the area.
