Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that improvements to Route 88 (McKean Avenue/Fallowfield Avenue) are scheduled to begin Monday, April 8, from McKean Avenue at First Street to 10th Street, and from Fallowfield Avenue at Ninth Street to First Street in Charleroi Borough, Washington County.
Intermittent single-lane restrictions will occur in both directions of Route 88 (McKean Avenue/Fallowfield Avenue) beginning at 7:00 AM on Monday and are anticipated through the beginning of November depending on weather and operations.
Crews from Bruce & Merrilees Electric Company will be replacing 11 existing traffic signals, removing four existing traffic signals, updating ADA ramps, sidewalks, curbs, pavement markings, and signs in an infrastructure investment of $4.3 million.
Exercise caution while approaching the work zone. Remain alert and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
