​Route 119 New Alexandria Road Closing Monday in Westmoreland County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that a portion of Route 119 (New Alexandria Road) is scheduled to close on Monday, June 10, between Route 1053 (Cameo Lane) and Route 1055 (Hannastown Road) in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County.

Crews from C.H. & D. Enterprises will be replacing the bridge that carries Route 119 (New Alexandria Road) over a branch of Crabtree Creek with a box culvert with wing walls attached to both sides. Construction will also include roadway approach, drainage, guiderail, signing, and pavement marking upgrades – an infrastructure investment of $1M.

A 20-mile posted detour will be in place using Route 22 (Pittsburgh-Buffalo/William Penn Highway) and Route 819 (Harvey Avenue). Work is anticipated until late June, depending on weather and operations.
