    PennDOT's Washington County Maintenance Update -- Week of June 10, 2024

    Uniontown, PA – Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard announced the following tentative work plan for the week of June 10, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

    Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

    Base repair:

    • Route 18 (Prosperity Pike) in Morris Township.
    • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township. 

    Boom mowing:

    • Route 917 (Cokeburg Road) in Ellsworth Borough and Somerset Township.
    • Route 1055 (Somerset Drive) in Somerset Township.
    • Route 2010 (Vanceville Road) in Bentleyville Borough.
    • Route 2017 (Vanceville Road) in Somerset Township.
    • Route 2019 (Almond Road) in Somerset Township.
    • Route 2021 (Pigeon Creek Road) in Somerset Township. 

    Brushing:

    • Route 221 (South Bridge Road) in Blaine, Buffalo, Morris, and South Franklin townships. 

    Crack sealing:

    • Route 18 (Burgettstown Road) in Burgettstown Borough, Hanover, Mount Pleasant, and Smith townships. 

    Culvert cleaning:

    • Route 837 (Main Street) in Union Township. 

    Debris removal:

    • Interstate 70 in Speers and Twilight boroughs and Fallowfield and Somerset townships. 

    Ditch line cleaning:

    • Route 837 (Main Street) in Union Township. 

    Drain cleaning/repair:

    • Route 837 (Main Street) in Union Township.
    • Route 3019 (Beham Ridge Road) in Donegal Township. 

    Inlet cleaning/repair:

    • Route 40 (National Pike) in Claysville Borough, Washington City, Buffalo, Canton, and Donegal townships. 

    Mowing:

    • Route 22 Ramp 8046 in Hanover Township.
    • Interstate 70 Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue) in Washington City.
    • Route 221 (Chestnut Street Extension) in Buffalo Township.

    Patching:

    • Route 331 (Brush Run Road) in Hopewell and Independence townships.

    • Route 4057 (Reed Road) in Blaine Township. 

    Paving:

    • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township. 

    Shoulder cutting:

    • Route 2004 (Vankirk Ridge Road) in Amwell Township.
    • Route 2005 (Smith Run Road) in Amwell and North Bethlehem townships.
    • Route 2007 (Hackney Station Road) in Amwell and North Franklin townships.
    • Route 2020 (Plumsock Road) in Amwell, Morris, and West Bethlehem townships. 

    Shoulder paving:

    • Route 2030 (Washington Street) in Bentleyville Borough. 

    Slide repair:

    • Route 2013 (Little Daniels Run Road) in North Bethlehem Township.
    • Route 2026 (Ridge Road) in Centerville Borough. 

    Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

    Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

    PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623). 

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
