PennDOT's Greene County Maintenance Update – Week of September 30, 2024

Uniontown, PA – Greene County Maintenance Manager Dale Baird has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 30. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Boom mowing:

  • Route 2009 (Gas Company Road) in Perry Township
  • Route 2011 (Garards Fort Road) in Dunkard and Greene townships
  • Route 2017 (Muddy Creek Road) in Cumberland Township
  • Route 3005 (Herod Run Road) in Springhill Township
  • Route 3007 (Delphene Road) in Jackson Township
  • Route 3010 (Deep Valley Road) in Springhill Township

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 3009 (Toms Run Road) in Gilmore Township
    • ​Road closed. Posted detour:
      • ​Route 3008 (Pine Bank Road)
      • Route 3006 (Dunkard Creek Road/Jollytown Road)
      • Route 3009 (Toms Run Road)

Litter and debris removal:

  • Interstate 79 in Franklin, Perry, Washington, and Whiteley townships

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 3001 (Aleppo Road/Ned Ridge Road/Windy Gap Road) in Aleppo and Springhill townships
  • Route 3003 (Riggle Road) in Aleppo Township
  • Route 3005 (Herod Run Road/Long Run Road) in Aleppo, Richhill, and Springhill townships
  • Route 3012 (Aleppo Road/Green Valley Road) in Aleppo Township

Slide repair:

  • Route 4029 (WW Railroad Road) in Washington Township
    • One lane closure

Spray patching:

  • I-79 in Franklin, Perry, Washington, and Whiteley townships, and various routes countywide                       

​Crews will pick litter, replace downed and updated signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide.

PennDOT has a toll-free number – 1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623) – for residents to report road maintenance concerns and locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
