Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists that the current traffic pattern near the Route 3030 (E. Pittsburgh Street) bridge over Route 30 in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County has been extended through mid to late November, weather and operational dependent.
The current traffic pattern remains in place to allow traffic to utilize the new Route 3030 bridge that crosses over Route 30. Eastbound Route 3030 will continue to have a single-lane restriction through the construction zone. There will be no change to the current traffic pattern on westbound Route 3030.
Motorists are asked to be alert and exercise caution while driving through the work zone.
Crews from Charles J. Merlo, Inc. will be performing the work during nighttime hours.
This work is part of a $7.6 million project involving the replacement of the Route 3030 over Route 30 bridge and includes a new two-lane single span concrete adjacent box beam bridge, realignment of the existing roadway on and off the new bridge with new asphalt pavement along with signage, guiderail, and drainage upgrades. The project is anticipated to be completed in May 2024.
