Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that short-term bridge closures are scheduled to begin in various locations on Thursday, June 6, in Fayette County. All work depends on weather and operations.
Short-term bridge closures are necessary to allow crews to pressure wash, clean, and seal bridge decks. Closures may last up to 72 hours from Thursday, June 6 to Friday, June 14, at the following locations:
- Two structures on Route 1031 (Broadford Road) between Narrows Road and Broadford Road in the City of Connellsville.
- Detour: Narrows Road and Broadford Road.
- Detour: Narrows Road and Broadford Road.
- Route 3006 (Smithfield Road) between Puroski Valley School Road and Sullivan Road in Nicholson Township.
- Detour: Church Street, Route 119, and Old Frame Road.
- Detour: Church Street, Route 119, and Old Frame Road.
- Route 4028 (Outcrop Road) between Richhill School Road and Old Frame/Smithfield Road in Nicholson Township.
- Detour: Woodbridge Road, Gans Road, and Route 119.
JF Shea Construction Inc. will be conducting the operations as part of a $205,000 project for bridge deck cleaning and sealing for 19 bridges located in Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.
Exercise caution while approaching the work zone. Remain alert and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
