    Route 18 Mahoning Avenue Bridge Washing Begins Friday in Lawrence County

    Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing bridge washing activities on Route 18 (Mahoning Avenue) in the City of New Castle, Lawrence County will begin Friday, September 8 weather permitting.

    Starting Friday, bridge washing operations requiring single-lane restrictions will occur on the bridge carrying Mahoning Avenue over the Shenango River daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through Thursday, September 14.

    Please slow down and use caution when traveling through the work zone.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

    511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
