Interstate 80 remains closed in Mercer County from the Interstate 376 eastbound interchange to Exit 15 (Route 19, Mercer) as clean up continues following a crash involving a tractor trailer. There is also a lane restriction for westbound traffic in that area.
The roadway is reopened near the Venango County line. The westbound lanes were closed from the Exit 29 (Route 8, Barkeyville/Franklin) in Venango County to Exit 24 (Route 173, Grove City) in Mercer County.
Drivers are reminded to continue to use caution while traveling during winter weather conditions and to give themselves additional time to arrive at their destinations.
Although PennDOT crews are treating roadways, the department's primary goal is to keep roads passable, not completely free of ice and snow. PennDOT will continue to treat roadways throughout the storm until precipitation stops and roads are clear.
