Traffic to be shifted during phased construction.
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that on Monday, June 1, a bridge replacement project will begin on Route 11 (West King Street) over the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks in Shippensburg Borough and Southampton Township, Franklin County.
The contractor will begin tree clearing, and erosion and sediment measures on Monday, June 1. There will be daylight lane restrictions under flagging.
Following the Independence Day holiday, a long-term lane shift on Route 11 will be in place during phased construction.
J.D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA, is the contractor on this $12,877,625 bridge replacement project. All work is expected to be completed by November 14, 2028.
