King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations will continue next week on several state highways under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
Beginning Sunday, October 15, motorists are advised of the following daytime and nighttime travel restrictions:
Chester County
- Sunday, October 15, through Thursday, October 19, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Burnside Avenue/Potshop Road/Berks Road between Main Street and Route 73 (Skippack Pike) in Worcester and West Norriton townships for milling and base repair;
- Sunday, October 15, through Thursday, October 19, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 10 (Limestone Road) between Route 472 (Market Street) and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in Oxford Borough and Lower Oxford, Upper Oxford, and West Fallowfield townships for base repair and paving;
- Sunday, October 15, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning and Monday, October 16, through Friday October 20, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Gulph Road between County Line Road and Worthington Road in Tredyffrin Township for milling and paving; and
- Monday, October 16, through Friday, October 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 29 (Morehall Road) between U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and Charlestown Road in East Whiteland and Charlestown townships for sealing operations.
Delaware County
- Sunday, October 15, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning and Monday, October 16, through Friday October 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Cheyney Road between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Creek Road in Thornbury and Concord townships for milling, paving, and utility adjustments;
- Monday, October 16, through Friday October 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Lawrence Road between Eagle Road and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Haverford Township for milling, paving, and utility adjustments;
- Monday, October 16, through Friday October 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Springlawn Road between Cheyney Road and Glen Mills Road in Concord and Thornbury townships for milling, paving, and utility adjustments;
- Tuesday, October 17, through Friday, October 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Thornton Road between Glen Mills Road and Cheyney Road in Thornbury Township for milling, paving, and utility adjustments;
- Wednesday, October 18, through Friday, October 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Thornton Road between Concord Road and Glen Mills Road in Thornbury and Concord townships for milling, paving, and utility adjustments; and
- Tuesday, October 24, through Friday, October 27, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Chester Road between Route 320 (Swarthmore Avenue) and Baltimore Pike in Swarthmore Borough for milling.
Montgomery County
- Sunday, October 15, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM and Monday, October 16, through Friday, October 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Lewis Road between Linfield Trappe Road and Main Street in Royersford and Limerick townships for milling and paving; and
- Monday, October 16, through Friday, October 20, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Yerger Road between Neiffer Road and Gerloff Road in Lower Frederick Township for milling and paving.
Philadelphia
- Monday, October 16, through Wednesday, October 18, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on westbound Walnut Street between 45th Street and 63rd Street for paving; and
- Monday, October 16, through Friday, October 20, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Allegheny Avenue between Ridge Avenue and Broad Street (Route 611) for paving.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
