PennDOT’s Washington County Maintenance Update -- Week of May 6, 2024

​Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of May 6, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations. 

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. 

Base repair: 

  • ​Route 18 (Prosperity Pike) in Morris Township.
  • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in Donegal and East Finley townships. 
  • Route 3037 (West Finley Road) in West Finley Township. 
Crack sealing: 
  • Route 18 (Burgettstown Road) in Hanover, Mount Pleasant and Smith townships and Burgettstown Borough. 
Drain repair/cleaning: 
  • ​Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township. 
  • Route 3019 (Beham Ridge Road) in Donegal Township. 
Inlet cleaning/repair: 
  • ​Route 980 (Robinson Highway) in Robinson Township. 
  • Route 4004 (Old Steubenville Pike) in Robinson Township.
  • Route 4012 (Noblestown Road) in Mount Pleasant Township.
  • Route 4015 (Waterdam Road) in Mount Pleasant Township. 
Mowing: 
  • ​Route 221 (Chestnut Street Extension) in Buffalo Township.
  • Interstate 70 Ramps 8014 (Jefferson Avenue) and 8025 (Donora). 
  • Route 22 Ramp 8046 in Hanover Township. 
  • Route 519 Park and Ride Ramp 9501 in North Strabane Township. 
Patching: 
  • ​Interstate 70 in Speers and Twilight boroughs, City of Washington, and Buffalo, Canton, Donegal, Fallowfield, North Franklin, South Strabane, and Somerset townships. 
  • Route 837 (Main Street) in City of Monongahela. 
  • Route 3029 (Burnsville Ridge Road) in West Finley Township. 
Shoulder cutting: 
  • ​Route 3008 (Jolly School Road) in south Franklin Township.
  • Route 3011 (Mounts Road) in Buffalo and Canton townships. 
Side dozing: 
  • ​Route 3011 (Mounts Road) in Buffalo Township. 

Slide repair: 

  • ​Route 4024 (Taylorstown Ridge Road) in Blaine Township. 
    • ​A posted detour will be in place using Route 4024 (Taylorstown Ridge Road), Route 221 (Main Street/Buffalo Creek Road), and Route 4059 (Post Road).
  • Route 2013 (Little Daniels Run Road) in North Bethlehem Township. 
Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit. 

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.  

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).   

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
