Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing scheduled line painting operations on eastbound and westbound Interstate 70 in Westmoreland County, beginning Monday, May 5.
Mobile work zones with slow-moving single-lane restrictions will occur during daylight hours, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, between Exit 58 (Routes 66 & 119) in New Stanton Borough and the Washington County line in Speers Borough.
The District 12 paint crew will conduct the work, which is anticipated through Thursday, May 8. All work depends on weather and operations.
Roadway line painting is an important part of PennDOT’s highway safety initiatives. Paint lines provide direction, delineation, and guidance.
Motorists who accidentally get paint on their vehicles should immediately wash it off with a high-pressure water stream and detergent. Dried paint can be removed with denatured alcohol and a soft cloth. PennDOT is generally not responsible for paint on vehicles.
Use caution and be aware of changing traffic patterns when driving through the area.
