Northbound Route 2085 Birmingham Bridge Sidewalk Work Begins Friday in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing sidewalk restoration work on the Birmingham Bridge which carries Route 2085 over the Monongahela River in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will begin Friday, July 17 weather permitting.

Beginning at 7:00 AM Friday, northbound Birmingham Bridge traffic will be reduced to a single-lane of traffic at the intersection with 5th Avenue around-the-clock through mid-September. Traffic to Kirkpatrick Street will use the left-hand lane. Crews from Independence Excavating will conduct sidewalk and ADA curb ramp restoration work.

Please use caution if traveling in this area. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.
