A multi-year project to extend the sidewalk and make pedestrian improvements along State Street in the City of Hermitage, Mercer County is scheduled to restart this month.
The project includes installation of a new concrete ADA complaint sidewalk on State Street (Route 3008) from the intersection with Buhl Boulevard to the intersection with Route 18. Additional work includes concrete curbs, driveway tie-ins, sign updates and pavement markings.
Some work was done in fall 2024. The remainder will be done this year when work restarts on March 24, 2025, weather permitting. It is expected to be completed by September 2025.
Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers and should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions.
Access to all driveways will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. Drivers may encounter temporary traffic control devices at driveways.
The contractor is M&B Services of Clarion, PA. The contract cost is $1,651,114.71, which is to be paid entirely with federal funds.
