Route 2019 (Level Road) Bridge in Cresson Township, Cambria County, to Reopen with Removal of Detour Tentatively Scheduled for Tuesday, October 14

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing motorists of the tentative plan to lift the detour and reopen the Route 2019 (Level Road) bridge over Route 22 in Cresson Township, Cambria County on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

The approximately 3-mile detour of Route 2019 (Level Road) using U.S. 22, the Route 8012 Summit Interchange, Route 8010, the Route 53 Interchange, and Route 2014 (Admiral Peary Highway) had been in place since April 2025.

Charles J. Merlo, Inc., Mineral Point, Pa., is the contractor for the $3,994,000.000 project, which called for the bridge and approach roadways to be raised to increase the under-clearance over Route 22. Additional improvements, including guide rail and drainage upgrades, were also performed.

As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers.
