Tree Trimming Scheduled for Monday at Centerville Road and Marietta Ave in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County

Work is part of Centerville Road interchange improvement project

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that tree trimming is scheduled for Monday, May 1, at the intersection of Centerville Road (Route 4057) and Marietta Avenue (Route 23) in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County. This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project.

Weather permitting, the contractor will trim trees at the northeast corner of the intersection where the lanes of westbound Marietta Avenue and northbound Centerville Road converge. 

This work will be performed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Through traffic will be shifted to the left turn lanes on westbound Marietta Avenue and northbound Centerville Road This may cause delays. Motorists should consider alternate routes.

This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction. The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road.

JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA, is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed by July 22, 2025.
