Stormwater Basin Work Planned at WB Route 22 Ramp to SB I-83 in Lower Paxton Township Near Harrisburg

​Intermittent traffic stops for construction vehicles entering and exiting ramp infield

Harrisburg, PA –The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a contractor is scheduled to perform maintenance on a stormwater basin located in the infield of the westbound Route 22 (Jonestown Road) ramp to southbound Interstate 83 in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County. 

Weather permitting, this work will begin Monday, May 22, and continue for the next two weeks from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Motorists will encounter intermittent stoppages on the ramp between the hours of 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM to allow construction vehicles to enter and exit the work site. Motorists should be alert and watch for stopped or slow-moving traffic.

Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to slow down when approaching and traveling through work zones for their safety as well as for the safety of the road crews.
