Paving Begins Next Week on River Road (Route 3030) in Manor Township, Lancaster County

Weekend closure for pipe replacement postponed

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that paving is scheduled to begin next week on a 3-mile resurfacing project on River Road (Route 3030) in Manor Township, Lancaster County. A pipe replacement scheduled for this weekend as part of this project has been postponed due to the forecast for precipitation.

Weather permitting, paving will begin Monday, May 1, on River Road between Letort Road (Route 3032) and Penn Street (Route 999). The contractor will work from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane with flaggers providing traffic control. There may be delays. This work is expected to take several weeks to complete, weather permitting.

This project also includes four large pipe replacements. Two of these replacements have been completed. The last two are tentatively scheduled to be completed the weekends of May 5-8, and May 12-15.

A detour will be in place during the closures using Penn Street (Route 999), Central Manor Road (Route 3017), and Letort Road (Route 3032).

This project consists of asphalt resurfacing, base repairs, drainage replacement, guiderail updates, line painting, sign updates, and other miscellaneous construction on River Road (Route 3030) from the intersection with Letort Road (Route 3032) to the intersection with Penn Street (Route 999).

This project is expected to be completed by June 30, 2023.

Pennsy Supply, Inc., of Harrisburg is the prime contractor on this $2,986,561 project.
