Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that bridge inspections are scheduled for next week at Interstate 81 and Route 581 in Cumberland County.
Weather permitting, on Tuesday, June 11, an inspection will be performed on the Route 581 ramp bridges spanning northbound I-81 between Mile Marker 59.1 and 59.2 in Hampden Township. This work will be from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. There will be alternating left and right lane closures on northbound I-81 during those hours.
Weather permitting, on Wednesday, June 12, an inspection will be performed on the eastbound Route 581 ramp over northbound I-81 at Exit 59 in Hampden Township. This work will be from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. There will be a right lane restriction on the eastbound Route 581 ramp from southbound I-81 during those hours.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
