Bridge will be closed, traffic detoured for one month
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge repairs are scheduled to begin Monday, June 1, on the Route 116 (Main Street) structure over Plum Creek in McSherrystown Borough, Adams County.
The bridge will be closed and traffic detoured for one month between Centennial Road and Oxford Road at the McSherrystown-Conewago Township line.
A detour will be in place using Centennial Road, Chapel Road, Edgegrove Road, and Oxford Road. There will be no public access across the structure during the closure.
This bridge work was added to the original resurfacing project on Route 116 that was completed last year. Bridge repairs are expected to be completed by June 30, 2026.
