Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that its line painting crews expect to begin nighttime operations on Sunday, June 7. This work includes the application of white and yellow pavement lines on various higher volume state routes in Dauphin County.
Weather permitting, work will begin from 8:00 PM Sunday, June 7, through 6:00 AM the following morning. This work will continue Sunday through Thursday nights for approximately eight weeks. There will be lane restrictions and slow-moving traffic through the work zone during working hours.
Line painting operations in Dauphin County will focus on sections of Route 11, Route 22, Route 25, Route 39, Route 147, Route 209, Route 225, Route 230, Route 322, Route 325, Route 341, Route 422, Route 441, Route 443, Route 743, and Route 849, among others.
PennDOT schedules evening line painting operations while temperatures are consistently warmer as an attempt to lessen traffic disruptions and lower the number of paint claims that come from higher volume traffic areas.
This is a mobile operation. Travelers should be alert and give line painting vehicles plenty of room to operate. They should avoid driving over freshly painted lines.
