Shoulder Restriction Next Week on SB I-83 John Harris Memorial (South) Bridge over Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, Dauphin County

Contractor to perform repairs under the bridge

Harrisburg, PA The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today a daytime shoulder restriction to begin on Monday, May 18, on the southbound lanes of the Interstate 83 (I-83) John Harris Memorial (South) Bridge spanning the Susquehanna River between Cumberland and Dauphin counties so repairs can be performed under the bridge.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM beginning on Monday and continuing until repairs are complete.

The southbound I-83 right shoulder will be closed. Three travel lanes and all on/off ramps will remain open.

Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
