Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that rolling stops are scheduled for the nights of Sunday, November 23, and Monday, November 24, on the southbound Interstate 83 John Harris Memorial (South) Bridge spanning the Susquehanna River between Dauphin and Cumberland counties.
Weather permitting, there will be multiple rolling stops of up to 15 minutes from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM Sunday and Monday nights on southbound I-83 from 17th Street in Harrisburg to the Lemoyne Exit in Cumberland County.
A right lane restriction remains in place on the bridge between the 2nd Street and Lemoyne exits so ongoing steel repairs can be completed.
Both exit ramps remain open. The 2nd Street on-ramp has been placed in a yield condition.
These restrictions are expected to remain in place for a couple of several more weeks.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
