King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that stormwater improvements are planned on several state highways in Bucks and Chester counties under a $14.9 million project to upgrade stormwater management facilities on more than 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 213 (Maple Avenue/Old Lincoln Highway) between Wheeler Way and Woodbourne Road in Middletown Township, Bucks County.
- Friday, July 19, through Friday, July 26, Hibernia Road will be closed 24/7 between Lafayette Road and Cedar Knoll Road in West Brandywine Township, Chester County. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Cedar Knoll Road, Route 82 (Manor Road), and Lafayette Road.
- Monday, July 22, through Friday, August 2, Kaolin Road will be closed 24/7 between Chandler Mill Road and Ewart Road in Kennett and New Garden townships, Chester County. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Ewart Road and Chandler Mill Road.
- Monday, July 29, through Friday, August 9, Wickerton Road will be closed 24/7 between Route 841 (Chesterville Road) and State Road in London Grove and Franklin townships, Chester County. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Route 841 (Chesterville Road), Route 896 (Newark Road), and State Road.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.
Highway Materials, Inc. of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
