King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is planned next week on Broad Street (Route 611) and several other state highways in Philadelphia, Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery counties, under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Philadelphia
- Tuesday, September 3, through Friday, September 6, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Broad Street (Route 611) between Penn Square and Oregon Avenue for milling.
Bucks County
- Monday, August 18, through mid-October, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on Big Oak Road between West Trenton Avenue and Pine Grove Road in Lower Makefield and Falls townships for high friction surface treatment.
Delaware County
- Monday, August 19, through late November, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Concord Road between Tuscany Road and Station Road in Concord Bethel, and Aston townships for high friction surface treatment.
Montgomery County
- Sunday, August 18, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, and Monday, August 19, through Friday, August 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Valley Green Road between Route 73 (Church Road) and Camp Hill Road in Springfield and Whitemarsh townships for milling and paving.
- Monday, August 19, through Friday, August 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Graterford Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Perkiomen Creek Road in Skippack and Perkiomen townships for milling and paving.
- Monday, August 19, through Friday, August 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Salford Station Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Old Skippack Pike in Lower Frederick and Upper Salford townships for milling and paving.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
