Resurfacing Operations Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are scheduled on several state highways in Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.

Beginning Sunday, October 22, motorists are advised of the following daytime and nighttime travel restrictions:

Chester County

  • Sunday, October 22, through Thursday, October 26, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 10 (Limestone Road) between Route 472 (Market Street) and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in Oxford Borough and Lower Oxford, Upper Oxford, and West Fallowfield townships for paving and base repair; and
  • Monday, October 23, through Friday, October 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 29 (Morehall Road) between U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and Flat Road/Atwater Road in East Whiteland and Charlestown townships for sealing operations.

Delaware County

  • Sunday, October 22, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM and Monday, October 23, through Friday October 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Springlawn Road between Cheyney Road and Glen Mills Road in Concord and Thornbury townships for milling, paving, and utility adjustments;
  • Monday, October 23, through Friday October 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Cheyney Road between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Creek Road in Thornbury and Concord townships for milling, paving, and utility adjustments;
  • Monday, October 23, through Friday, October 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Thornton Road between Glen Mills Road and Cheyney Road in Thornbury Township for milling, paving, and utility adjustments;
  • Monday, October 23, through Friday, October 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Thornton Road between Concord Road and Glen Mills Road in Thornbury and Concord townships for milling, paving, and utility adjustments;
  • Thursday, October 26, and Friday, October 27, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Chester Road between Route 320 (Swarthmore Avenue) and Baltimore Pike in Swarthmore Borough for milling; and
  • Thursday, October 26, and Friday, October 27, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Thompson Avenue between Baltimore Pike and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Springfield Township for milling.

Montgomery County

  • Sunday, October 22, through Thursday, October 26, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Berks Road/Potshop Road between Route 73 (Skippack Pike) and Township Line Road in Worcester Township and Burnside Avenue between the East Norriton Township line and Main Street in West Norriton Township for base repair; and
  • Monday, October 23, through Thursday, October 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Berks Road/Potshop Road between Route 73 (Skippack Pike) and Township Line Road in Worcester Township and Burnside Avenue between the East Norriton Township line and Main Street in West Norriton Township for utility adjustments.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
