Intersection Improvement Project Continues on U.S. 202, Route 491 (Naamans Creek Road)/Beaver Valley Road in Concord Township

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction continues at the U.S. 202 (Wilmington/West Chester Pike) and Route 491 (Naamans Creek Road)/Beaver Valley Road Intersection in Concord Township, Delaware County, on a project to improve mobility and reduce congestion for motorists and emergency services.

Motorists are advised that on Sunday, October 22, through Friday, November 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, weekday/weeknight and Sunday lane closures are scheduled at the following locations:

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this project, PennDOT's contractor will install a second left turn lane on southbound U.S. Route 202 (Wilmington/West Chester Pike) at the Route 491 (Naamans Creek Road)/Beaver Valley Road Intersection. An additional receiving lane will also be installed on Route 491 (Naamans Creek Road) to handle the increased volume from the new left turn lane from southbound U.S. 202. All other lanes within the intersection will remain the same.

Additional enhancements include pavement resurfacing within the project limits, installing new signs and pavement markings, and modernizing traffic signal heads and mast arms.

Highway Materials, Inc., of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on this $991,737 project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
