Construction Activities Scheduled on I-95 and Several Other State Highways in Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that various construction activities are scheduled on Interstate 95 and several other state highways in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Philadelphia

  • Monday, August 21, through Wednesday, August 23, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Walt Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue (I-76 East) and Broad Street (Route 611) interchanges for guiderail installation;
  • Monday, August 21, through Wednesday, August 23, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Walt Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue (I-76 East) and Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue interchanges for guiderail installation.
  • Monday, August 21, through mid-September, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on Philmont Avenue between Barcalow Street and Morgan Drive in Philadelphia and Lower Southampton Township, Bucks County for high friction surface treatment; and
  • Monday, August 21, through Friday, September 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, weekday alternating lane closures are scheduled on the northbound deck of the Girard Point Bridge between the Enterprise Avenue and the Broad Street interchanges for bridge inspection.

Chester County

  • Monday, August 21, through Friday, August 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 10 (Limestone Road) between Hostetter Road and Troop Road in West Fallowfield Township for pipe replacement.

Delaware County

  • Monday, August 21, through mid-September, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Providence Road between East Bishop Road and Spring Hunt Lane in Upper Providence Township for high friction surface treatment;
  • Monday, August 21, through mid-September, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Providence Road between Cove Lane and Fawn Hill Lane in Upper Providence Township for high friction surface treatment; and
  • Monday, August 21, through mid-September, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Providence Road between Fawn Hill Lane and Damview Drive in Upper Providence Township for high friction surface treatment.

Montgomery County

  • Monday, August 21, through Saturday, August 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Interstate 476 between the I-76 and the Norristown interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough and Plymouth Township for bridge inspection;
  • Monday, August 21, through Friday, August 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Allentown Road between Reinert Road and Forty Foot Road in Towamencin Township for curb work;
  • Monday, August 21, through Friday, August 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Cheltenham Avenue between Paper Mill Road and Cromwell Road in Springfield Township for pipe replacement; and
  • Monday, August 21, through late September, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) between Stump Road and Dekalb Pike/Upper State Road in Montgomery Township for culvert repair.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
