King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations will occur next week on several state highways in Philadelphia, Bucks, and Chester counties under multiple ongoing projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway across the five-county region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Philadelphia
- Monday, October 13, through Wednesday, October 15, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Penn Square (City Hall) between Market Street and Broad Street (Route 611) for paving.
- Monday, October 13, through Thursday, October 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Chestnut Street between 22nd Street and Broad Street (Route 611) for inlet and manhole repair.
- Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Chestnut Street between 22nd Street and Broad Street (Route 611) for paving.
- Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Walnut Street between Broad Street (Route 611) and 23rd Street for paving.
- Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Kelly Drive between 25th Street and Ridge Avenue for line painting.
Bucks County
- Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a periodic lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of Penn Valley Road/Hood Boulevard between Old Bristol Pike and Oxford Valley Road in Bristol and Falls townships for paving.
- Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of Knights Road between Route 132 (Street Road) and Poquessing Creek in Bensalem township for pavement repair.
- Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) between Poquessing Creek and Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) in Bensalem Township for pavement repair.
Chester County
- Wednesday, October 15, through Friday, October 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a periodic lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of Phoenixville Pike between Saunders Lane and U.S. 30 in West Whiteland Township for milling, paving, and utility construction.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
