King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations will occur next week on several state highways in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties under multiple ongoing projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway across the five-county region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Philadelphia
- Monday, September 29, through Friday, October 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on Penn Square (City Hall) between Market Street and Broad Street (Route 611) for inlet and manhole repair.
- Monday, September 29, through Friday, October 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Chestnut Street between 22nd Street and Broad Street (Route 611) for inlet and manhole repair.
- Monday, September 29, through Friday, October 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Walnut Street between Broad Street (Route 611) and 22nd Street for inlet and manhole repair.
- Thursday, October 2, and Friday, October 3, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Oregon Avenue between Front Street and 15th Street for paving.
- Friday, October 3, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Moyamensing Avenue/Penrose Avenue (Route 291) between Oregon Avenue and the George C. Platt Memorial Bridge for paving.
Bucks County
- Monday, September 29, through Friday, October 3, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of Fallsington Tullytown Road between Low Lane and New Falls Road in Falls Township and Tullytown Borough for milling, paving, and utility construction.
- Monday, September 29, through Friday, October 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of Penn Valley Road/Hood Boulevard between Old Bristol Pike and Oxford Valley Road in Bristol and Falls townships for milling, paving, and utility construction.
Chester County
- Tuesday, September 30, through Friday, October 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures will be in place on sections of Saint Matthews Road between Route 401 (Conestoga Road) and Pughtown Road in West Vincent Township for milling.
Delaware County
- Wednesday, October 1, and Tuesday, October 2, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, alternating lane closures will be in place on sections of Lawrence Road between Route 320 (Sproul Road) and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Marple Township for milling.
Montgomery County
- Monday, September 29, through Friday, October 31, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a weeknight lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of Route 63 (Main Street) between Valley Forge Road and Business U.S. 202 in Lansdale Borough, and Towamencin and Montgomery townships for paving.
- Monday, September 29, through Friday, October 31, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a weeknight lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of Doylestown Road (Business U.S. 202) between Route 463 (Cowpath Road) and County Line Road in Montgomery Township for milling and paving.
- Monday, September 29, through Friday, October 31, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a weeknight lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of Evans Road between Plymouth Road and Route 63 (Welsh Road) in Lower Gwynedd Township for milling and paving.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
