King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that pipe replacement will close a section of Route 52 (Bradford Avenue) in East Bradford Township, Chester County, under a $15.9 million project to upgrade stormwater management facilities on more than 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, December 1, through Wednesday, December 24, Route 52 (Bradford Avenue) will be closed and detoured 24/7 between Tracie Lynn Drive and Rosedale Avenue. Motorists will be directed to use Price Street, Route 842 (Miner Street), Birmingham Road, and Route 52 (Lenape Road/Bradford Avenue).
Local access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.
Highway Materials, Inc. of Flourtown, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
