Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the ramp from Aramingo Avenue to northbound I-95 has reopened in Northeast Philadelphia following emergency bridge repair. The ramp from the Betsy Ross Bridge to northbound I-95 remains closed for repair.
During the closure, Betsy Ross Bridge motorists can use Richmond Street or Aramingo Avenue to access northbound I-95.
The two elevated ramps were closed on Monday, October 20, following expansion joint failure. The Betsy Ross Bridge ramp will remain closed until the repair work is completed.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because significant backups and delays will occur.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
