King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction has been completed more than two weeks ahead of schedule on the project to rehabilitate the pedestrian bridge that carries Meetinghouse Road over a branch of Naaman Creek in Upper Chichester Township, Delaware County.
The pedestrian bridge and roadway had been closed since November 17, to allow PennDOT’s contractor to replace the 109-year-old structure which had been listed in poor condition.
The Meetinghouse Road bridge is 63 feet long, 24 feet wide, and carries almost 10,000 vehicles per day.
This bridge replacement is part of a $9.5 million project to replace or rehabilitate several structures across the five-county Philadelphia region.
Loftus Construction, Inc. of King of Prussia, PA, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
